GREEN GRID PRODUCTIVE COMMUNITY
ONE PRIZE MOWING TO GROWING COMPETITION | COMPTON, CA
This scheme proposes an agro-ecological corridor system that implements agriculture, pollinator gardens, fog harvesting and stormwater filtration systems to provide low-income urban communities with locally grown and harvested food.
Community parking garages, made with reused concrete from the streets, act as metaphorical “hives” for the neighborhood. The “hives” support pedestrian friendly corridors by consolidating vehicles and are strategically placed to influence the circulation of people and pollinators within the community.
