LITTLE OWL PRESCHOOL LIVING WALL
ARCHITECTURE M | LONG BEACH, CA
The living wall wraps around the building and assists with building insulation, moderating the temperature on site and minimizing water runoff. It is comprised of modular planting panels that are attached to the building over external waterproofing. Plants are watered using a drip irrigation system with lines running between planted panels.
The colorful plant palette is drought tolerant and easy to propagate from cuttings. The interesting shapes and textures of the foliage attract pollinators like bees, butterflies and hummingbirds and compliment the building and school gardens. The Little Owl Preschool living wall enhances the beauty and aesthetics of this nature-based environment and is an excellent educational resource.
